SOLAR 2010 Tours

Visit important and interesting local renewable energy sites. Tours take place on Saturday, May 22 and require separate registration. Please see the specific tour description below for more information.

You DO NOT have to register for the conference to register for a tour. On the Conference Fees page in the registration system, choose "Workshops, Tours, Special Events Only."


An Insiders Tour of Taliesin West - T02 – (separate registration required)
Saturday, May 22
8:30am – 12:30pm
Registration Price: $85 on or before April 1, $95 after April 1, $105 on-site
Details: Led by Don Aitken, former two-time Chairman of ASES, and Barbara Harwood, co-faculty member with Don at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture, this tour will go beyond the normal introductory tours and focus on Wright's buildings and his architecture for the desert, for daylighting and for the climate, as well as some of the present work of students at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture.  The tour will go "behind the scenes" to areas normally off limits to tours, and will include a look at some of the student shelters and information about the botany of this beautifully rich portion of the Sonoran Desert. Price includes transportation and refreshments.
